The Folsom and El Dorado Hills communities are situated an equal distance between the luxury resorts of Lake Tahoe and the world-famous San Francisco Bay area. They offer access to lush rolling green spaces as well as close proximity to all that Sacramento has to offer. The Folsom / El Dorado Hills area has exquisite options when it comes to places to eat and things to do.
The El Dorado Hills Town Center is the emerging El Dorado Hills downtown district and is built like a traditional downtown, with the main street for strolling and window shopping. Each building is its own unique architectural statement.
The upscale shops and eateries at the Palladio shopping center are a great draw for the community and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. This location also hosts recurring events such as a Wednesday Night Concert Series and Saturday morning Cars & Coffee Car Show.
Travel just outside the cities to enjoy several excellent wineries, including the Dry Diggings Distillery, the D’Artagnan Vineyards, and the Secret Ravine Vineyards. And nearby Apple Hill plays host to various activities at fruit orchards, pumpkin farms, bake shops, craft fairs, and breweries.

Things to Do

The area is home to Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma and the American River. It offers plenty to do for water enthusiasts, from boating, water skiing, fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding to just lying on a beach soaking in the California sun.
A newer addition to the area’s outdoor amenities is the Johnny Cash Trail, a 2.75-mile bike and pedestrian trail that has two beautiful bridges inspired by the local landscape. A world-class linear public art experience honoring the legendary Johnny Cash, his music, and his history in the City of Folsom may be coming soon.
The Empire Ranch Golf Club in Folsom is a scenic, country club-quality public access course located at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills that offers various holes and challenges for all players.
A wonderful family excursion can be had at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary, a haven for dozens of rescued wild and domestic animals. After visitors take a stroll on the scenic pathways, they can top off their perfect day with a ride on the Folsom Valley Railway through Folsom City Lions Park.
