Local Lifestyle

This community has been growing, and it's no wonder why. Families and individuals flock to Elk Grove’s prime location in the beautiful Sacramento Valley and its proximity to Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay area. Residents love the mild, four-season climate and bounty of outdoor spaces. They participate in the plentiful community events and are passionate about the bright future of their shared community.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

The Elk Grove area is rich in amenities, from well-regarded local restaurants to bountiful shopping options to various venues for local events.
Boulevard Bistro is a Zagat-rated Elk Grove community treasure focused on regional American cuisine. They boast a large selection — over 50 varieties — of California’s Foothill wines and locally raised meat and vegetables, along with fish from the cold waters off the shore of northern California.
The ancestors of the family that owns and runs the McConnell Estates Winery moved into the area in 1849, and the land has been part of a rich tradition of enjoying the land’s bounty ever since. In its modern incarnation, the winery offers weekend events, including the Barn Night Concert series, in its new barn venue, and their tasting room is open any time.
One of the newest arrivals on the Elk Grove shopping scene is Delta Shores, a master-planned, 800-acre mixed-use development that has 1.3 million square feet of commercial space, including large format retailers, entertainment, dining, hospitality, and personal services.

Things to Do

The thriving community of Elk Grove offers fun events for both adults and families. The community prioritizes open green spaces and is home to many wonderful parks.
Every year, a summer highlight is the Uncorked and Uncapped festival, which features drinks and tasty treats from dozens of local vendors along with living music and a chance to let loose with friends in an adults-only setting.
As an area with lots of young families, Elk Grove has more annual events than you can imagine for every time of year. Summers offer Comedy Under the Stars, Hot Summer Nights concerts, Movies in The Park, the FitFest, and a community campout. Fall is the time for the Giant Pumpkin Festival and the ever-popular Pool of Pumpkins. During the holidays, your family has the chance to have Breakfast with Santa. And throughout the year, families and friends boogie down at the super-popular family dances.
If you’re interested in exploring the many great parks in the area, be sure to check out Elk Grove Regional Park  — it has softball, baseball, and soccer fields as well as horseshoe and volleyball courts, a swim center, and lots of shady spots for a picnic lunch. Strauss Island, in the middle of Elk Grove Park Lake, plays host to many cultural and community events.
